Hand-making beautiful things and designing has always been a an innate part of our family. My brothers and sister and I have been drawing and creating since we were toddlers so it's no surprise that our career has always been artistic of some sort. We really enjoy planning these intimate parties for other people, because it's so amazing to see them so happy on their special day and that we were able to be an intricate part of that, down to the very last hand made party favor. Our most recent event was planned for a friend of ours, Catherine, who is soon to be a new mom as she and her husband welcomes baby Chloe into their lives. She wanted a peach and gold theme so we kept things romantic and simple with roses and gold sparkle throughout. The photo backdrop was folded and hand painted and each favor was personally picked by Catherine for her guests.

This time, the backdrop for the dessert table was designed and strung piece by piece and the letters were hand cut. The party turned out to be such a joyous occasion as family and friends came together to celebrate with us. It was only a few years back when we shot Sibel + Toan for their one year anniversary and now it's their baby Khaan's turn for his first photo session. After celebrating the Big 1 with a Trotro themed party with friends and family, we spent a day at the park with the family to photograph Khaan's first birthday along with a whimsical hot air balloon and a Trotro cake that Sibel made from scratch. (The kid loves cake!) He is the most adorable and easy going baby you could ask to work with and add in some beautiful golden lighting from the sunset and you've got yourself a pretty awesome photo session. Only a year ago, we were shooting Tuan's first maternity session with baby Olivia, who is so tall and beautiful now as she accompanies her mom on her second maternity photo shoot. Last time, we had a sunny and bright Spring session, and this time, the total opposite with dark gray skies and winter grays to set the mood for some spectacular shots during the twilight hour.

Catherine and Nguyen flew in from Miami to visit family and took this opportunity to revisit their favorite places in Galveston, where they first met and fell in love while both attending medical school. It was just last year when we all went to San Francisco for a mini vacation that baby Rachel was conceived, and so, her nickname is San San. We met up at the park and took full advantage of the beautiful, falling autumn leaves. Noon, Jim and little Mimi are the most adorable family and we just love how they coordinated their outfits to match. There are not many iconic and scenic parks around Houston and Hermann Park is one of the top go-to places for photographers, but we really don't mind one bit because it is so gorgeous here during this time of the year. And growing up here in Houston and having visited this same park with our family, it's hard not to reminisce about how we used to play in the same park when we were younger kids. This is why we love being able to photograph and share these little moments with our clients!

Tony is an art teacher who is never shy to show how much he loves his girl, whether it's hand making something for her, or just a quick sketch of his muse and sharing it with everyone. The festivities began at City Hall, followed by a big lunch at the Grove with their closest friends and family members. They  also opted for a traditional tea ceremony at her parents' home, where family gathered to offer them congratulations and bestow the bride with her dowry. For such a fun, cheerful and unique couple like Elaine and Jack, we drove down to one of our favorite grove of crepe myrtle trees for their bridal shots. We just had to take advantage of these beautiful trees, which had been colored blue by the artist, Konstantin Dimopoulos. This has been one of my favorite photo sessions this year. The photos have turned out so gorgeous, and you can really see how happy these tow love birds are. I just love the fact that Elaine and Jack didn't need to have all the fancy and traditional wedding decor and flowers and big venues on their special day. They celebrated their love with great food, and surrounded themselves with their loved ones and sometimes, that's really all you need.

Candace is so gorgeous and she has such a timeless beauty to her that we wanted to showcase a few romantic looks that can be styled using different accessories. Three different looks for the same dress. With a few key pieces, the bride can go from classic beauty to bohemian and then to a vintage-inspired bombshell. A really big thank you to Lily from Live Love Beauty, who did such an amazing job on the makeup and also to Shreeda from J. Tailor Salon who created that soft, romantic chignon for us. The entire styled session was a bit stressful considering we planned everything from scratch, hand-making all the props and floral arrangements,  but we are so happy with these gorgeous photos and if you ask us, we'd definitely do it all over again!

For someone who is as vibrant, energetic and beautiful as Alina, we took her downtown to to get some of these shots during the gorgeous twilight hour. And even though we got a little bit more caught up with trying to find parking downtown than we should have; by the time we reached our location, the sun setting down behind us provided some really amazing lighting for our portrait session.

Catherine and Nguyen met in med school and is now living in Florida, but they came back to Houston to celebrate their engagement with their closest friends and family. The traditional tea ceremony was held at her parents' home, surrounded by loved ones. I've shot tea ceremonies before but it's always sweeter when it's one of your oldest friends standing in front of the alter. The blushing bride-to-be wore soft pink to match with all her hand-made rose arrangements and decor. As a photographer, you spend the most time with the bride and groom and I always love being able to see and capture those sweet moments before the big ceremonies. I just love the shot of Catherine praying before the ceremony commences. And of course, those ten minutes one on one time with the couple in between ceremony and reception can bring out the best smiles on a new bride-to-be. Congratulations to Catherine and Nguyen and looking forward to the big day! xoxoxo

Even on our way driving to the shooting location, the storm clouds were coming in on us, moving so quickly and sporadically across the skies as if the rain gods were playing musical chairs above. And as the clouds cleared for a brief moment, we had gorgeous soft lighting and a beautiful model to photograph, what more could a photographer ask for! When Ava asked us to photograph her for Wild Daisy Boutique, we happily agreed. Ava has been modeling since she was young and it was so easy to get some amazing shots out of her in such a short amount of time.

Gladis has that amazing infectious laughter that comes from deep inside her and it's so easy to see why Drew has fallen for such a beautiful person like her. We celebrated their love and marriage in an intimate gathering of friends and family and it's moments like these that make us feel so blessed to do what we do and to be able to be a part of one of the most important days of two people's lives.

Gladis and Drew's special day was filled with so much love. It was an intimate family affair with aunts and cousins cooking and helping with hair and make-up. The father of the bride was the most nervous man in the house full of women as he presented his daughter with a bouquet of flowers and gave her a big hug before taking her to the church. The bride had flowers all down her hair and she looked so beautiful throughout her special day. The wedding was a full of festivities as the bride and groom kicked off the evening reception, Gangnum style,  with a choreographed dance routine. Friends and family joined in throughout the rest of the evening dancing the night away in celebrationg of Gladis and Drew's wedding. Congratulations to two very amazing lovebirds!

One, being that we have never worked with horses before and two, being that Kayla is so gorgeous, who wouldn't want to photograph her? With a name so fitting, Adonis, had his mane braided and was well-groomed for his photo session when we arrived. We spent a good afternoon on the ranch photographing these two beauties and it's so amazing to see how a majestic animal like this can be so calm and tame. There were so many great shots from this photo session, we couldn't just narrow it down to a few!

We can't believe it has been a month since our niece was born today and it was only just a while back when we were photographing the proud parents to-be. On June 20th, 2013, we welcomed a beautiful, healthy baby girl into this world at 8:01 PM, and 8.7 lbs! We can't say how much joy and anxiety and love this baby has brought into the family and we are looking forward to spoiling her so much. The parents invited us into their home for an intimate session the first week after Olivia was born for her very first photo shoot. And, being as Olivia has not only one but two photographers for an aunt and uncle, it's only fair to assume that there will be many more of these photo sessions to come in the future!
